Dear Blogsome,

While you know you’re not my first, you really are the one online-journal conduit that has meant the most to me. When I first met you, I was drawn in by your clean design and the availability of my desired ‘betamom’ name. My ‘Hello World’ posting was up in a matter of minutes, and it took me only a few more to apply the minimalist three column black and red design theme.

You encouraged my writing-flow, and I was posting frequently. Getting braver, I discovered “Files” and realized I could change the index and CSS and even the post and comment pages. I channeled my old web design days, or rather minutes, and excitedly jumped right in to edit mode.

All was going so well, Blogsome, until my dream of returning to work full-time came true. Gone were my couch-sitting days as I reentered the time-crunch life where there are simply never enough hours in the day. I started to hear titillating rumors that one could blog from her phone and take and send pictures for immediate blog posting and all for free. Free? Could it be true?

Once I spotted WordPress, my eyes wouldn’t leave the Free Features page and before I knew it, I clicked on “sign up for a free blog!” I’m sad to see you go betamom.blogsome.com for so many reasons but I just have to move forward. It’s not you; it’s me. I just need – more.

onebetamom.wordpress.com is still a work in progress as all relationships eternally are, but here’s to my exciting future with WordPress.
